A presentation by Roger Mummert of www.theparisproject.net in association with the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA
Event begins at 1pm PT / 2pm MT / 3pm CT / 4pm ET
This event will run for 1h15min.
Among the first Europeans to reach North America were French explorers and cartographers. The French established a unique relationship with Native Americans, who led them deep into this vast continent and revealed its riches. The maps created from their explorations fundamentally impacted how colonizers would lay claim to enormous portions of North America—and how emerging nations would later redefine those claims.
Join us for an engaging conversation with Roger Mummert, writer and creator of theparisproject.net, and Iris de Rode, historian of the French role in the American Revolution.

She has held more than twenty research fellowships, appears in Ken Burns’s PBS series The American Revolution, advises major museums and digital-heritage projects on both sides of the Atlantic, and is now completing a book on the French in the American Revolution.
